The right support starts with the right people

At TLC Supported Living Services, we believe the people providing support matter just as much as the services themselves.

The right staff can make all the difference in helping someone feel comfortable, respected, understood, and confident in their own home and community.

That is why we take great care in matching individuals with Direct Support Professionals who fit their personality, communication style, interests, routines, and support needs. We want the relationship to feel natural and respectful—not simply like someone is there to complete a list of tasks.

Our staff are there to support each person in making choices, building independence, maintaining important relationships, participating in their community, and working toward the goals that matter to them.

We believe good support should be dependable, flexible, and personal. As needs change, we work with the individual, family, and support team to adjust services and make sure the support continues to fit the person’s life.

Our goal is to help each individual feel safe, valued, and supported while living a meaningful life of their own.

HOW WE CHOOSE AND SUPPORT OUR STAFF

TLC takes great care in selecting Direct Support Professionals who are a good match for each individual. We look beyond basic qualifications and consider personality, communication style, interests, experience, and the individual’s specific support needs.

We believe the relationship between the person receiving support and the staff member is extremely important. The right match can help someone feel more comfortable, confident, respected, and successful in their daily life.

Once staff are selected, they receive training based on the needs of the individual they will be supporting. This may include personal care, household routines, transportation, appointments, budgeting, meal preparation, community activities, communication needs, and positive behavior support.

TLC continues to provide guidance and supervision after staff begin working. We stay involved with the individual, family, and support team so concerns can be addressed, changes can be made when needed, and the support continues to fit the person’s life.

Our goal is to provide dependable, respectful staff who understand the individual, encourage independence, and help each person live safely and successfully in their own home and community.

INTERESTED IN JOINING OUR TEAM?

TLC is always interested in meeting caring, dependable people who want to make a meaningful difference in someone’s life.

Working as a Direct Support Professional is about much more than providing assistance. It is about building trust, encouraging independence, supporting personal goals, and helping someone participate in the everyday activities and relationships that are important to them.

We look for people who are patient, respectful, reliable, and comfortable working one-on-one with adults with developmental disabilities. Experience can be helpful, but attitude, dependability, and the ability to connect with the person you are supporting are just as important.

Because every individual is different, we work carefully to match staff with people based on personality, interests, communication style, schedule, and support needs.

TLC provides guidance and support so staff understand the individual they are working with and feel confident in their role.
